Flexibility and Changes

• Transfer courses, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, CLEP, dual enrollment, etc., that are transferred to UM with specific UM course credit, can be used in cognates.
• Students may petition for individual course substitutions in cognates, by application to the cognate's RAU.
  • Students must go see the RAU ... form coming
• Cognates can be modified, like majors and minors. Students are bound by their bulletin year (yikes).
• Cognates can be terminated, but will remain in the system for three more years, or less if all declared students complete the cognate sooner.
