Homework 6

• Read the man pages for getopt(3), stat(2), opendir(3).
• Play with the getopt-example.c program to understand getopt.
• Extra credit: Write a limerick about getopt.
• Complete myls. by combining it w/ stat-file.c
• Your myls should implement the -a, -l, -i, -R and -F flags.
• If you want, you can check out the real thing.

Notes on grading

The only part of this homework that is graded is the myls program.

It will be graded on a 20 point scale, as 10 plus 10. The first 10 will be for the basic myls with -a and -l switches. The remainging 10 for the -i, -R and -F switches.

The extra-credit for the limerick is meant to encourage you to actually experiement with and understand getopt. There will be no "real" points awarded for the limerick, but we will post results.
