Previous RoboCup participations

RoboCanes is the University of Miami robotic soccer team. The team is led by Dr. Ubbo Visser. We participated in three leagues: a) the Standard Platform League (SPL), b) the 3D Simulation League, and c) DSPL. RoboCanes is active since 2010.

Prior to 2010, Dr. Visser founded and co-founded Virtual Werder (University of Bremen, Germany), and the German Team (Sony Aibo robots, 4LL) in the early 2000s. The German Team won the WorldCup in 2004. He also co-founded B-SMART as part of a student's project at the University of Bremen. B-SMART was active from 2002-2007 and excelled into the 1/4 final in several cases.

Research topics of the RoboCanes team include learnable knowledge representation, biped walking control, multi-agent cooperation and communication, self-localization, parameter optimization, reinforcement learning, computer vision.
